HVAC ENGINEER (P.E.)
PMC is currently seeking an experienced HVAC Engineer to join our team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs Project Management (PM) duties for various MEP design projects
- Participates in weekly staff meeting and assists with planning
- Prepares HVAC conditions assessment reports and preliminary project descriptions
- Coordinates with client, internal/external design team members, project manager
- Develops design concepts for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and controls
- Prepares energy models and load calculations for HVAC systems
- Performs data collection and/or field verification
- Selects equipment and materials to fit the project design
- Authors HVAC project specifications in CSI MasterSpec format
- Produces detailed HVAC engineering drawings and specifications
- Ensures all drawings/specifications are prepared with accuracy and meet company standards
- Reviews shop drawings and product data
- Attends regularly scheduled Owner-Architect-Contractor meetings and calls
- Performs on-site observations during construction
- Coordinates design requirements with contractors and equipment suppliers
- Performs final punch-list site visits and generates reports
- Participates in PMC University continuing education program as a presenter and student
REQUIREMENTS
- Licensed/Registered Professional Engineer (in a U.S. state)
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering principles, practices, and techniques
- Familiar with design standards and building codes
- Five + years of related HVAC design/engineering experience
- Self-performing; capable of leading engineering tasks with minimum oversight
- Presents a positive, team-focused attitude to both clients and peers
- Demonstrates attention to detail and organizational and time management skills
- Able to work independently on multiple projects in a given time period
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 suite and Autodesk Revit
